Alexander Fraser (1827–1899) was a Scottish landscape painter and the biographer of Horatio McCulloch. He is also known as Alexander Fraser the Younger as his father, Alexander Fraser (1786–1865), was also a Scottish painter. According to Edward Pinnington's biography of him, he was brought up on the coast of Argyll. He went to Edinburgh in 1844 or 1845 and learnt his trade there. He 'began to exhibit in 1847 and his first commission dates from about 1850.' [1]
